     Mike Kelley at the MoMa PS1

 

 

 

 

 

 

      

           In this last trip to the MoMa PS1. I learned and experienced new things about  the

contemporaneous art .I really enjoy to see the new art of Mike Kelley and admire it. I never had see

that kind of art and neither hear it from someone else.

             

                       The MoMa PS1 have a large exhibition of Mike Kelley art. Kelley present most of his

work in different medias  such as drawing, video, sculptures, music, photography and painting. In his works, we can see that he made use of materials that people use everyday, but he give them a different meaning. Something that really get my attention was that each of his art have a different theme depending on how the works is present. At first, it was difficult for me to know what Kelley wants to express in his work. Some of their works were a little exaggerated but Kelley know that in today society that just normal that he made use of it . He is art also have some mature contains . In other works, he uses some subject of educational material to present his ideas to politics and the problems that exist at that time such as a war or discrimination. Kelley have a lot creative and imagination to do this amazing works. Mike Kelley in his works present expressionist art that show his critique and humor at the same time. One of his art that really like me was the one called " More lovers hours than can never be repaid", in which he show that the whole time invest on doing the rag dolls, animal and others stuffs are seems has nothing to other, who ignore the time that each one of them too to do it and even more if they were do with love.

 

                      For me, this art is  all new, and I consider them as one of the best, even though, it contains some mature works. Some people made use of it in a wrong way, but Kelley did the opposite by giving them a different meaning to show people a social problem of today's world. And I think, that this trip helps learn more about thinks that some of us don't know, by the lack of information that we have.
